Text: Astrology: Understanding the Birth Chartby Kevin Burk Using video from Lee Lehman, PhD, readings, and a weekly video conference, this course introduces students to the key concepts used in astrology, including planets, signs, nodes, triplicities, quadruplicities, houses, rulerships, and the Ptolemaic aspects. Students will develop their skills in synthesizing the keywords used for each part of a chart into an astrological interpretation. Students will also learn how keywords and interpretations have changed over time by comparing how William Lilly (16th century), Alan Leo (19th-20th century) and StarIQ (present time) interpret the same components in a chart. This course lasts 8 weeks.

Welcome to Chart Calculation OS-151 Introduction. As a graduate of Kepler College, I am offering this course as it was taught to me in my Sophomore year. I want to present to you the knowledge that was passed on to me from my instructors, and also present to you an opprotunity to learn how to hand calculate a natal horoscope. This introduction course will teach you the basics to calculate Northern Latitude birth charts and Southern Latitude birth charts for any location throughout the world. Even if you already know how or never wanted to attempt hand calculating a birth chart, this course is specifically designed for you, because it teaches the most simplified (easiest) way to hand calculate a birth chart. Plus anyone, no matter how much knowledge you have, or don’t have in astrology, this is the right time and the perfect opprotunity to learn a technical side of astrology in a more scientic and mathematical point of view. By understanding the mathematics and its function that goes into calculating a natal horoscope, you will learn the fundamental meanings of the chart, see the chart in a completly new way, and you will also come to discover some of the difficulties that went into hand calculating a chart, especially during ancient times. Also by learning how to hand calculate a natal horoscope, this fundamental technique will also give you the ability to calculate Horary charts and Electional charts. Plus, the OS-151 Introduction Course will prepare you for the OS-251 Intermediate Course where you will calculate Secondary Progressions and other important measurements such as Lots, Antiscia, Declinations and Eclipses. What's even more beneficial is that by the time you finish the 151 Introduction Course, you will be ready to pass the NCGR Level I Chart Calculation Exam Certification. This is a 10 week course. Registration is always welcome anytime. Welcome to Chart Calculation OS-251 Intermediate. This course is a continuation of the Chart Calculation OS-151 Introduction Course. In the 151 course, you actually cast a horoscope by hand, while the 251 Intermediate course takes the natal chart and focuses on calculating special points and measurements, plus calculating present and future events. Thus, calculating by hand, these points, measurements, and future events will definitely be opened to new insight as a way to increase your knowledge for discussing delineations and interpretations of the chart. Interestingly, the OS-251 Intermediate Course is advantageous because not only do you have the knowledge to calculate a natal horoscope, you will also be able to perfom mathematical calculations for other extremely important and useful techniques that have been in use since ancient times. However, since Secondary Progressions are a modern (19th-20th century) technique, the mathematics behind both ancient and modern techniques will be utilized as a means to understand the fundamental meaning and deeper interpretations when viewing a horoscope. Therefore, calculating these techniques by hand will provide a wealth of information for interpretations, delineations and predictions. What's even more beneficial, is that by the time you finish the OS-251 Intermediate Course, you will be ready to pass the NCGR Level II Chart Calculation Exam Certification. This is a 10 week course.
